My last two pairs of Asics shoes - the Gel-Nimus and Gel-Cumulus, developed holes in the mesh about both of my big toes. With the latest pair - the Gel-Cumulus 17 - which I bought in March, there were holes forming in the mesh after just two months.
I'm not a high-mileage runner - I do about 12-15 miles in a good week. I guess my big toes curl upward when I run or something.
My previous running shoes, the Gel-Nimbus 16s, also developed this same issue in the top mesh in both shoes, but it seemed to take longer, like 4-5 months. I've contacted the company so I'm interested to see how they respond.
